Sunrise Editorial Services, publishing agent for the Alpaca
Owners and Breeders Association, is pleased to announce the
promotion of long-time associate and industry leader, Deb
Hill, as the new Managing Editor of
Alpacas Magazine
(“A.M.”), effective the 1st of March, 2010.
Ms. Hill has been a freelance writer for SES these past ten
years as author of
A.M.’s
recurring educational column,
“Taking Care of Business,” where she has provided alpaca
owners with myriad tips on ways to improve their business
operations. She brings 14 years of hands-on alpaca experience
to the job of editor, and will be transitioning into the roles
and functions presently held by Executive Editor, Dave Belt.
An engaging speaker with an upbeat speaking style, Hill has
given educational and marketing presentations at numerous
AOBA national conferences since 1998. She served as Chair
of the AOBA Education Committee for four years and prior
to that, served as Chair of the AOBA Affiliate Committee.
She currently serves on the Alpaca Registry Inc.’s (ARI)
Board of Directors and chairs that organization’s Information
and Communications Committee. Many of her volunteer
activities have involved writing and editing a variety of com-
munications. In additional to her national-level service to the
alpaca industry, Hill has been active in the Arizona, and now
in the Montana, Affiliate organizations.
Along with husband Don Sanfilippo, Deb has been raising
alpacas since they founded Cloud Dancer Alpacas in Flagstaff,
Arizona in 1996. In 2009 the couple began relocating to
their new ranch in central Montana. Deb can be reached at
